Hija de mi Padre: Poetry Book Launch & Photo Exhibition

  • Stay Gallery 11140 Downey Avenue Downey, CA, 90241 United States (map)

Join Angeleno poet and writer, Solany Lara, on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 6 – 9pm for a photo exhibition and book launch in celebration of her first poetry collection: Hija de mi Padre. This collection explores the emotional complexity associated with parental grief, generational trauma, and being a first-generation Mexican American. Her poetry shines light on her healing journey, showing that, despite the loss of her father, he lives on through her and the pages of this book.

This experience will immerse you in her family’s, father’s, and ancestor’s past by taking you through a photo exhibition, live reading, and celebration of her father’s life.

Live poetry reading @ 7:30pm

Free admission.
